<p>For 2012 Agrovista has nominated two charities, Macmillan Cancer Support and The Vic Dashwood Memorial Fund which raises funds for St Nicholas Hospice.</p>
<p>This page has been set up for any donations people would like to make for St Nicholas Hospice throughout the year and for any smaller events we may hold as a company.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; font-size: 11pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;">The Vic Dashwood Memorial Fund was set up in 2008 by his widow, Susan Whymark, after she pledged to try and raise £20,000 to fund a nurse on the Community Hospice Team at St. Nicholas Hospice in Bury St. Edmunds.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; font-size: 11pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;">In early 2007 Vic developed a persistent cough.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>For several months he put it down to allergies or a cold he couldn’t shift.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>After attending his doctor and having a clear x-ray result, and as a life long non smoker, he was diagnosed with several non life threatening conditions.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Sadly on 5 December 2007 he was diagnosed with an undetected, advanced, inoperable lung cancer.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0cm -6pt 0pt 0cm;"><span style="font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; font-size: 11pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;">At that time, other than district nurse input there was no other support available to allow him to return home. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>However, with Vic’s determination to go home a care package was set up, including hospital bed, oxygen and all the medication and equipment needed to care for him at home and also because his mother-in-law had been the Nurse Manager of Priscilla Bacon Lodge Palliative Care unit in Norwich and was able to cope.</span></p>
