This is the first of many events to come which will be held in Ben’s honour.

Joe's band - Five Smooth Dudes - and DJ Sonny Delight will be holding a benefits gig on the 29th of March to gather family and friends together to celebrate Ben’s birthday (15th March). 

As well as getting everyone together we will also be aiming to raise awareness about Ben's story and trying to prevent this from happening to other young people. Every year 2,100 people under the age of 50 are diagnosed with bowel cancer in the UK and too many are being diagnosed too late when treatment is harder. As we all tragically know this is resulting in lives being needlessly being lost from this treatable disease. 

Bowel Cancer UK run a campaign called 'Never Too Young' and have compiled a report about the experiences of young people with bowel cancer. They make a series of recommendations to health professionals about bowel cancer in patients under the age of 50. Bowel Cancer UK are currently working with the Government, the NHS and professional bodies to take these recommendations forward.
