Story

International Black and White Stripes Day 2016 takes place on Friday 22 April.

The day began in 2012, when I introduced a black and white stripey dress code on my birthday, to celebrate beating breast cancer the year before. Coercing friends and colleagues to adopt the uniform for the day has turned into an annual event.

Now in its fifth year it’s time to celebrate in stripes for a wider cause. I already support breast cancer charities, so I’ve decided to fundraise for two of my favourite black and white striped causes: Anthony Nolan (the blood cancer charity) and the Wildlife Trusts (protecting the environment in the UK).

Please join me in wearing black and white stripes on Friday 22 April and donate what you can on my Just Giving page. Add your stripey photos to the International Black and White Stripes Facebook page too.

Celebrate the monochrome for the day and wear horizontal, vertical or diagonal black and white stripes.
