UPDATE: Sir Bradley Wiggins has very kindly agreed to sign a Team Sky cycling jersey for us. All donations of £50 or more will be entered into a raffle and one lucky winner will win the signed Jersey. We'd like to also say a massive thank you to all donations received so far.
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On the 25th April 2014, Clerks, Staff and members of Chambers will be cycling from our Cardiff office to our London office. Over 3 days we will cycle almost 200 miles by road in memory of Pete Miller.
A little bit about Pete:
Peter Miller was a one off. A great lawyer, a proud father, football connoisseur and a teller of awful jokes, he would undoubtedly be bewildered and amused by his colleagues donning lycra in his memory. He was also one of the most respected and admired members of Cornerstone Barristers. He joined our Chambers in 1993 after a career as a Police officer. He was a highly skilled lawyer and an advocate who opponents underestimated at their peril. As well as a great friend, colleague and consistent source of sound advice and wisdom to many of us for the past 20 years he was devoted to his fantastic wife and two sons and was rightly proud of them above all else. Pete comprehensively proved that you can be a successful barrister and a great family man. His tragic early passing was a shock. His sense of humour, wit and larger than life character is sorely missed by us all. Those of us fortunate enough to have known Pete will never forget him.
Meadow House Hospice looked after Pete when he was diagnosed with Cancer, they looked after his family and they ensured Pete enjoyed his time with us & his family as best as possible.
So far, we have had a brilliant response from all in chambers and (subject to change) those cycling are...
Justin Callaghan, Paul Cray, Elliot Langdorf, Phil Desmondez, Matt Hutchings, Jack Parker, Emma Dring, Josef Cannon, Harriet Townsend, Rob Williams, Robin Green, James Findlay, Michael Bedford, Kelvin Rutledge, Richard Ground, Rory Clarke, Jenny Oscroft, Ryan Kohli, Tom Cosgrove, Simon Bird, Zoë Whittington, Clare Parry, Hugh Flanagan, Asitha Ranatunga and Michael Paget
Like many hospices, Meadow House rely heavily on donations and by donating you will be making a real difference.
