Story
On 20th October 2014 a very special little boy was welcomed into this world at only 23 weeks and 5 days (not being able to wait another 16 weeks to meet his family!), weighing just 1lb 2oz! A tiny little pink body covered in nothing but wires and tubes ... way to early but pure perfection .... my beautiful nephew and little soldier Jamie!!
This year Jamie turned 1! A day and milestone that a year ago seemed a million miles away and in the first few days of his little life, a day that we weren't certain would even happen!!
This day of party food, party hats, presents and most importantly a day surrounded by family and close friends would certainly not have happened if it wasn't for the amazing staff working in the NICU department at 'Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital'! My family and I can not begin to thank these people enough for all they have done for both Jamie and our family but as a start I want to raise some money for vital equipment needed in this department ranging from £100 for 'snuggle wraps' to £10,000 for a 'Drager Isolette Incubator'.
I have set my target at £1800 as I believe this is the amount you need to raise when running the London Marathon for a charity.
I am hoping to do a range of different events over the next year such as a bike ride and hiking event but to kick things off I have signed up to do an event called 'Only The Brave'; a 5 mile course with 20+ obstacles - very wet, very muddy, very exhausting (so they've warned me!)
Thank you in advance to everyone who donates to such a worthwhile cause and supports me through the challenges I set myself!
