Last year I was honoured to watch my wife run the 2014 London Marathon in memory of a very special young man taken so early. Her determination and effort inspired me to take on the challenge of running 26.2 miles for a very worthy cause, The British Heart foundation.

For those that know me well, i'm not a natural runner and us McCann's aren't exactly blessed with long runner's legs. This will be, without question, the most difficult yet rewarding adventure I have embarked on.

Those of us who were blessed to remember a very special man called George McCann, will understand why i'm running in his memory. My father was unique in many ways, but mostly for his quick wit, yet sharp Scottish tongue! George was taken far too young from his family and friends after losing his battle with cancer. I am honoured to have had him as my old man and i'm sure he will be there with me on the day.

All I ask is that you help me raise my target for the BHF. Please give what you can and I promise I will complete my end of the bargain.
