Story
Elsie, was a beautiful little girl, full of love, life and kindness.
Shockingly, she was diagnosed with a brain tumour (diffuse pontine glioma) in June 2011, shortly after her 6th birthday. There is no cure for this condition. Elsie responded well to radiotherapy which gave her a new lease of life for the next 6 months. However, her tumour began to grow and spread at the beginning of 2012. Elsie sadly passed away on 21 March 2012.
The Emily Ash Trust did so much to help Elsie be happy during this time as they focus on helping children and young people with cancer. They regularly hold events for families facing similar situations living in our region and these are a good opportunity to connect with other families and share experiences or just to focus on having some fun. The Trust held a wonderful Christmas party and a Build-a-Bear party that many families attended. The Trust also incredibly generously arranged for Elsie and her family to go to Lapland (Finland) for the day to meet the real Father Christmas!
In our opinion, The Trust truly make a difference to sick children and families lives by holding regular family friendly events and their generousity can only be made possible by donations.
Help the Emily Ash Trust help other families who have to deal with such difficult times.
