Story
I am taking part in Run to the Beat and am honoured to be running in memory of Erin Clancy, a beautiful little girl who was loved beyond measure. Erin was born with a congenital heart defect associated with Turners Syndrome and died in hospital at just 22 days old. Durng her treatment in hospital Erin's parents stayed at Ronald McDonald House, just a 3 minute walk from their precious daughter which meant they got to spend as much time with her as they could. I want to raise money to ensure that other parents get to use these facilities and make the worst time of their lives just a little bit easier.
Now, a little about me. Anyone who knew the old me will know that running 13.1 miles was not only not my idea of fun but not something I could have done at all. After having my daughter Ella I put on a lot of weight and would not have considered myself fit in any way but one day this all changed, a friend invited me to go to weight watchers with her and I have never looked back. I am now 7 stone lighter than I was and through my quest to be slim I took up running. Now this is the really surprising bit as I HATE running and have never been able to do it, but I decided to beat the demons of my school PE lessons and give it a go. A year later I now run for fun and am starting to challenge myself. Run to the Beat is my first ever event and I am excited and terrified in equal measure.
