We hold activities in Southwark and Lambeth to combat isolation and bridge communities

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On 2nd July 2016 children's publishing buddies Emma and Julia will be stomping 50k in one day a) because we love to walk ALMOST as much as we love children's books and b) to raise lots of cash for a fantastic charity, South London Cares, which helps to tackle isolation, combat loneliness and bridge generational divides in Southwark and Lambeth.

Thanks to this charity Emma met Cora - you can read about their friendship here: https://southlondoncares.org.uk/blog/a-year-of-friendship-between-cora-and-emma

Did you know that two fifths of older people say that the TV is their main form of company? Were you aware that loneliness is as harmful for you as smoking 15 cigarettes a day?

Here's how your donations will make a difference:

£20 could help fund a Social Club, such as a film night or
games afternoon

£40 could help us match a volunteer with an older neighbour
through our Love Your Neighbour scheme (like Emma and Cora)

£150 could provide transportation for a day out for your older
neighbours, such as a trip to a pub or local restaurant.

Anyway, we'd be hugely grateful for donations - our blisters thank you in advance!

Thanks,
Emma and Julia
