Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am supporting GASTROCAN (Grampian Gastro-oesophagael Cancer Research Fun) by running the 10k Balmoral Run on the 28th of April 2012. This will be quite an effort for me as I have never entered a run before, plenty of training has been getting done for this event! Please help motivate me and sponsor as much as you can, any donation will be very greatly appreciated and make all the running worthwhile. It is a very worthwhile cause and one that I hold dear having lost a family member and a friend last year to this type of cancer.
GASTROCAN is the only charity raising money specifically into stomach and oesophagael cancer. Dr Petty leads the Aberdeen University and NHS Grampian research into the causes and treatments of this devastating disease.
Main aims of GASTROCAN include:
Undertake internationally important cancer research locally in Grampian
Enable local patients to benefit from the latest cutting edge treatments for gastric and oesophageal cancer
Help recruit the best doctors to work in Grampian to be part of the research
Raise awareness of gastric and oesophageal cancer so that patients recognise the symptoms and seek medical help earlier
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
GASTROCAN fund is managed by the University of Aberdeen Development Trust.
All donations will be greatly appreciated - thank you in anticipation.
