Story
In the early hours of Sunday 9th September 2012, Botany Bay CC's 2nd XI captain, Adam Skinner was tragically killed in a fatal motorcycle crash just hours after guiding his team to promotion from their division. Adam was the same age as my son, Mark and joined Botany Bay as a colt when he was 15. I had the pleasure of captaining Adam in his first ever senior match and remember encouraging him to use his hands to field the ball rather than his feet! I went on to play many more matches with Adam until this season which tragically was his last.
On Sunday 7th April I will be walking the 13 miles from Lord's Cricket Ground to Botany Bay to raise money for a new scorebox which we intend to build at the club in Adam's memory. We think this will be a fitting tribute to someone who gave so much to the club. Everyone at the club is keen to build a scorebox which does Adam justice so I would be very grateful if you would sponsor me.
