Story
That's me cycling 800 miles for R2R in support of Combat Stress. As I have quite a lot of commitments with work I have from now until November to complete the task but will be doing everything I can to try and do this within the time frame to finish with the team in August. This is by far gonna be one of the most physically challenging things I've done but it's for an amazing cause and In perspective to what some people go through this will be nothing.
Danny is the founder of Run 2 Recovery (R2R). R2R are a team of four who plan and complete their own physical challenges. Their first was a 24 hour run to see how far they could run. Their second was a 424 mile run in 10 days which followed a direct route between the three Combat Stress centres in the UK. Their next event (this summer) is a 800 mile cycle (over 9 days) of what was the Western Front to Dunkirk, then Dover to Oxford United Football ground (the Kassam Stadium). The ride will commemorate the centenary of the Battle of the Somme and the 75th anniversary of Tywhitt House (Combat Stress HQ). Oxford United have kindly sponsored the team bikes this year. In return, R2R will split all money raised between Combat Stress and OUFC Community Trust. They have a Facebook page so please check it out, R2RCombatStress. Here you can keep up to date with their journey, before and after the event. They are in it for the long haul, as they plan to raise £1,000,000 over the next 20 years. Be part of this challenge and cycle 800 miles in your own time between now and remembrance day, whilst raising money for Combat Stress and Oxford United’s Community Trust
