Story
The team (from left to right: Frank Bachmann, Dave Hill, Soji Babarinde, Chris Sharples, Ben Brennand-Carter, Chris Eames, David Hiscutt, Russ Jones, Sarah King, Brad Ellis and Sam Adjepong) are running the Manchester 10k this year in memory of Oliver Hiscutt.
Ollie's father, Dave, is a colleague and friend and will be running with us. Ollie tragically passed away just weeks before his 3rd birthday from a throat infection. Dave and his wife Julie are fundraising for the hospital that did such a wonderful job looking after Ollie.
Please be generous and donate to this extremely worthy cause.
Julie and Dave's story:
"We started this fundraising page in memory of our son, Oliver. He died as a result of an invasive strep A throat infection. He had been in hospital on anitbiotics and appeared to be on the mend. But the infection had caused tissue damage behind his tonsil and soft palette, which spread, rupturing a major blood vessel in his throat, in turn leading to catastrophic blood loss. The hospital team did all they could to save him, but devastatingly he passed away. He was just 15 days from reaching his 3rd birthday.
The fantastic effort by all of the doctors, surgeons and nursing staff is the reason we have decided to raise some money for the hospital, in the hope that it may one day help save another childs life.
Oliver was a truly happy boy with the most infectious smile. He was such a caring and loving boy, who was so excitied at the prospect of becoming a big brother in the New Year. We knew he loved us and he knew we loved him; a day didn't go by without us telling each other ' love you all the world'. We know Ollie is in a happy and peaceful place, and are committed to making sure we remain happy and positive as it is all he knew and would have wanted"
Thanks
