Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page in memory of my big brother, Guy Bishop. On February 21st of this year, Guy very sadly lost his battle with brain cancer (Glioblastoma Multiforme) after just eight months from his diagnosis at the age of twenty-two. My brothers bravery and strength during this time is something which has been instilled into not only myself and my family, but into so many who knew him. Guy never once complained and he maintained his outlook on life and "Cracked on". This makes me the proudest sister in the world.
I would also like to thank everyone who has donated so far! The charity I am passionate for and wish to raise for is Clic Sargent, which is a children's cancer charity who helps children, young adults and their families when coping with cancer. This great charity provided financial, practical and emotional support for Guy and helped him be able to do the things he wanted to do in the time he had left with us. I'd love to help raise as much money as possible in appreciation and to help extend their care further, to more families.
Myself and a group of Guy and my friends will be skydiving later on this year. We're facing our fears to raise money here! A few of us will also be taking part in this years Tough Mudder event.. baring in mind that we are all admittedly currently so unfit so this is quite something!
Guy touched the heart of so many with his huge smile and his gentlemanly manner. He had a passion for all things technical and spent many
hours in the University bar organising lighting and sound for the student
nights and Uni balls. He would take any small idea and make it his task to put
on the best show for everyone. He seemed to be good at everything! He had his PADI certification for scuba diving, he played guitar to a standard I could only dream of getting to and he was a maths genius and would go out his way to outsmart anyone he deemed necessary.
Explaining Guy makes me question how on earth could such a wonderful man be taken from us so soon? But the sad and unfair fact is that so many individuals are and whilst finding a cure remains vital, the care which terminally ill patients receive is just as important. This is why supporting charities like Clic Sargent means so much.
I want to make Guy proud by thanking Clic Sargent on his behalf those charities who helped him so very much. I would be so grateful for any donations! Every penny counts!
Thank you,
Holly xx
