For those of you who know me you will appreciate that the prospect of running anywhere does not fill my heart with glee. So to step up and do 13 odd miles must mean something....

Both of my grandmothers died as a result of cancer neither of whom I had the pleasure to meet. 

Cancer is blind and indiscriminate it takes without considering the impact. 

Debbie Broderick was the mother of my colleague Tess, taken far too early. Her story is put into words by her family far better than I could ever. Please take a moment to read it. 

If the prospect of me running 20km isn't enough for you to dip your hands into your pockets her families story must surely be.
