In memory of George Rodd
We fund medical research, and give support to those people affected by brain tumours

Story

In memory of George, I have chosen to put my body on the line and run 100km in just 10 weeks!  For anyone that runs regularly this may not seem like a big challenge, but for me, this is the first time I have run since school - over 20 years ago!

This is to provide further sponsorship to one of the key charities that did their best to support me and my family through the tragic loss of our son, George – The Brain tumour charity.

My son, George Rodd, was born 12th December 2009 along with his twin brother Austin. He spent three and a half years getting the most out of the life of a little one and shared most of his experiences with his older brother Oscar.

In Easter 2013, George displayed symptoms of something being amiss - simply being unbalanced on a trampoline. After various doctors appointments an MRI revealed a Golf ball sized tumour at the back of Georges brain.

Despite the best available surgery, George sadly passed away 6 weeks after his initial diagnosis.

By supporting the Brain Tumour charity, I want to help the 500 children and 4500 adults under 40 years old diagnosed each year, and if possible reduce these numbers in order that others have a chance of positive treatment.

Thank you again for your support.

James
