Story
This is Tommy Swankie, he lived a couple of doors down from us in Puttenham - he was a ray of sunshine in the lives of Hazel, James, Joe and Peggy and it is for him that we are putting in lots of training and are willing to walk for up to 30 hours to cover 100km of the South Downs, from Arundel to Beachy Head on Saturday June 27th.
Tommy was just 18 months when he died in June 2014, from a very rare form of childhood cancer called Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. His family didn't see his illness coming. Until those devastating last couple of weeks in May and early June, he was just a typical happy little boy who loved dancing to CBeebies, broccoli, mini pancakes and chasing birds (not particularly in that order).
It is in his memory that we are going to do this event and we hope that you'll find a moment to support us by giving a small or large donation to his family's chosen charity, which is Children with Cancer UK. Thank you x
