Story

Hayley and I have set ourselves the joint challenge of running 'Ten 10ks in Ten Months'.

We want to support our chosen charities SHINE and SASBAH as they gave so much to one person in his short life. We also want to make a son, brother and close confident very proud.

For those who don't know, we lost Adam (Hayley's brother) in a quick and unexpected way during November 2013. Adam was loved so dearly and the loss has left an emptiness that will never be filled. However his time with us was so special, he was a rock to so many people and his simple words 'everything will be ok' gave everyone an inner strength.

Although I did not spend as much time with Adam as I would have liked, his humour, charm and love lives on through the stories that his family often share with me - they carry such warmth and gentleness and I feel privileged to be listening.

Feeling that he is still with us, be it in making us laugh at the most inappropriate time, or throwing the occasional book at us (at least we hope it's him or we have serious stability problems at home!), we would be so very grateful if you could help us make him proud by sponsoring "his two little runners". All donations received will help support the wonderful charities SHINE and SASBAH, which brings so many opportunities to individuals and so much hope to their families and carers all over the UK.

Wish us luck and many thanks in advance,

Jess and Hayley xxx
