Story
Some of you may know that Brian, a very close relative of ours, passed away in March after a short but very courageous battle against an asbestos linked cancer.
To help celebrate his life and what he stood for, we and other family members will be doing the Shine Marathon Walk on September 28th in London. This decision may come as a bit of a surprise to most people as exercise certainly doesn’t come easily or naturally to either of us! Our joint efforts at exercise in the past have usually ended after joining a gym and then promptly thinking of excuses not to go! But … we are determined to do the marathon and so would be thrilled to bits if you could spur us on by possibly sponsoring us.
In his final few weeks, Brian was admitted to the Eden Valley Hospice which is run primarily by volunteers. Brian was himself a volunteer there, working as a Bereavement Counsellor while also sitting on the Board of Directors. The care and compassion shown whilst he was in the Hospice was truly amazing and helped make a very difficult and emotional time more bearable. We have decided to walk in the name of Eden Valley Hospice and are hoping to raise as much money as possible to allow others to benefit from the amazing work done by the Hospice.
We would be thrilled if you would like to sponsor us. This can be either by signing our sponsorship form or by donating on this page.
With many thanks,
Jo and Carol
