Story
I was never particularly sporty while growing up. I would have happily skipped my P.E. lessons if it hadn't meant a less-than-perfect school report... This is why it is perhaps surprising that once I hit my thirties I thought I'd give running a go, just to see if I could do it. Not only did I discover that I can do it, I also discovered that it makes you happy. If only I had known this when I was twelve, sporting that pasty-white library tan and dreading the inevitable hour of P.E each week. So it seems fitting that I can now use my new-found appreciation of physical activity to help a local charity aiming to bring sport and health to those in the community who really need it. Your donation will make a big difference to their work and the people they work with. Thank you lovely people!
Oxford United Community Trust is expanding, going from delivering football in a small number of schools across Oxfordshire, to supporting hundreds of children across the county to try different sports; supporting older people to stay active for life with Walking Sports; supporting grassroot clubs with nutritional workshops; providing real education, training and employment opportunities for local people and taking this on the road so no one misses out with the new community bus we hope to buy with the funds raised.
We promise to use the funds raised wisely and to keep working hard to help everyone in Oxfordshire be the best possible version of themselves through sport, education, health and social inclusion activities.
