Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking part in the Bupa 10k on the 27th May 2013 to help the fund raising efforts of friends of mine, Sarah and Steve Harper, who want to buy a heated cot for the NeoNatal Unit at the Evelina Childrens Hospital at St Thomas' Hospital in memory of their beautiful daughter, Grace.

Sarah writes-

"Our daughter Grace was born prematurely at 30 weeks + 5 days, weighing 1.23kgs (2lb 11oz) with major congenital heart disease, which was picked up at our 20 week scan. We were advised by a heart surgeon that her condition was operable and there was no reason not to go ahead with the pregnancy.

Grace did amazingly well and came through her prematurity, including having an operation for Duodenal Atresia at less than 2 days old.

Sadly Grace's heart condition was more complicated than initially thought and although she initially did well after two heart operations, she sadly passed away on Monday 28th May 2012, aged 14 weeks.

The nurses, doctors, cardiologists, consultants e.t.c. at St.Thomas' hospital were fantastic. We would therefore like donations to be made in memory of Grace, to help other premature and cardiac babies."

All money I raise will go directly to Sarah and Steves fundraising.
