In memory of Kate Denbigh
We improve early diagnosis and treatment to save more women's lives

Story

Target Ovarian Cancer is the national Ovarian Cancer charity working to save lives and help women diagnosed live their lives to the full, wherever they live in the UK.  This is done through improving early diagnosis, finding new treatments and providing support for women with ovarian cancer.

There is an urgent need to secure progress. In the UK, 7,000 women are diagnosed and 4,300 women lose their lives each year. The UK has amongst the lowest survival rates in Europe. If we were able to just match the rest of Europe 500 more women would survive each year.

Kate Denbigh was diagnosed with advanced Ovarian Cancer in December 2012 and despite fighting a brave battle she sadly passed away on 18th February 2013.  Early diagnosis and increased awareness of Ovarian Cancer is key to increasing survival rates and Target Ovarian Cancer are working towards this goal.

A group of Kate's family and friends will be taking part in a 10km Walk at Hatfield House in Hertfordshire on 5th October in memory of Kate with the hope of raising much needed financial support for Target Ovarian Cancer.

All through her illness Kate remained incredibly cheerful and positive, always thinking about others before herself.  With this in mind we are raising money to help other women affected by Ovarian Cancer.  For example, each £150 raised could enable 300 GPS to update their knowledge of Ovarian Cancer and best practice for early diagnosis.
