Story

I enjoy riding my bike. Sometimes it hurts, but I like that bit too. The Fred Whitton challenge is probably the hurtiest day out on a bike in the UK. I expect I will be in the saddle for 8 hours going up and down the steepest parts of the Lake district over 100+ miles.
I don't usually try fundraising for riding my bike because, as I mentioned, I do it for fun. This is a bit different, I might not manage it. I need a strong incentive to get round...

Earlier this year my cousin and his wife had their first baby, a beautiful girl called Matilda. Unfortunately she wasn't well when she was born and survived for only a few days. I couldn't help them with this which was frustrating for me. They were helped by the services and people of Martin House, a children's hospice in Yorkshire. I would like to offer my support to Martin House in memory of Matilda Cornwell. I hope you will support me in my efforts in "the Fred". It's only a bike ride after all.
