Story
My name is Kenny Purdie, current 2.0 litre Hot Rod British and European champion.
I have set up this just giving page in memory of my wife Joan Purdie to raise funds for St Andrews hospice. In March this year 2016 my wife Joan lost a brave battle against cancer, one of her last wishes was to raise as much money as possible for St Andrews Hospice which is a care home for the terminally ill.
Myself, family and friends have set a goal of £100K
St Andrews Hopsice provides :
🔹30 specialist palliative care beds
🔹A 2 bed respite care service for older adults living in the community and young chronic sick
🔹A Day hospice offering care care for up to 60 patients every week
🔹Support for people in their own homes in the Clydesdale area as part of a joint south Lanarkshire project funding by "reshaping care for older people"
🔹A specialist range of support services
🔹A consultant led domiciliary and outpatient service
🔹A 24 hour telephone palliative care advice line
🔹 An Education service to support the understanding of palliative care in Lanarkshire and the involvement of hospice medical staff in palliative care provision in the three district general hospitals and clinics across the county
🔹Medical support to the community Macmillan teat
Joan firmly believed that everyone has the right to receive the best treatment and healthcare available. No one should be exempt. She always felt privileged that she had so many friends and family who were willing to go to such efforts to make sure she got the treatment she needed and deserved. She would be extremely happy to know her family and friends are continuing her fund by doing sponsored stock car racing in associating with HRP Promotions at Lochgelly and Speedworth Raceway at Ipswich, and various other fundraising opportunities. In doing so, this can help continue to give others the opportunity and chance to receive care that otherwise may not be available.
