Story

Hi everyone,, for those of you that don't know me , my name is Kevin Regan, if I may I'd like to give you a bit of background about myself and why I'm asking you to part with your cash.

I have previously raised funds for my chosen charity , Leuchie House in North Berwick. Back in 2012 I ran the Berlin marathon and managed to raise £1400 thanks to the generosity of everyone that donated.

As a result of that Leuchie emailed me recently, along with all their other fundraisers, to say that they had received one place in the 2016 Virgin Money London Marathon and would I be interested in applying for the challenge. Now although I have ran on and off since Berlin, I have let my fitness level drop dramatically, I have put on weight and generally let things slip. So when I received that email it was all the motivation I needed to get back out running. After a long two weeks wait I was elated to be told that my name had been drawn from the hat and that I would be running the London Marathon for the charity that is closest to my heart, it was a very special moment. Now for the hard work, let the training begin !!

The reason Leuchie House, in my opinion, is a very special place is because I have a brother, Davie, who has been a multiple sclerosis sufferer for almost 30 years. He has been a regular guest to Leuchie House for 10 years , visiting 2 to 3 times each year.

Leuchie House is simply fantastic, from  the beautiful location set in the countryside to the first class care and physio offered, right through to the excellent food and uplifting atmosphere experienced as you enter the building. It provides quality respite for Davie as well as his family who can be sound in the knowledge that he is in safe hands in a place he knows and loves.

Leuchie House relies entirely on charitable contributions and it needs all the help it can get therefore I feel it is an extremely worthwhile cause and is the reason why I am asking you to part with your hard earned cash in the hope that we can keep this place running for the numerous people that benefit from staying there. Leuchie House offers its services to any individual with a high dependency condition. Please check the link on my page for more information.

I will keep you posted with regular updates of my progress through the winter and who knows, I may even upload a photo or two, now that's got to be worth a donation !
