Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Most of you probably know that after mum died last year we set ourselves a target, as a family, of raising £10,000 for St Leonard's Hospice.
So far, with what we've raised, what our brilliant friend Clare's raised plus Gift Aid, we've raised £5,450. We'd like to try and reach the £6,000 mark by the end of this year.
It's mum's birthday next week and Seonaid and I decided we wanted to do something a bit different to mark the occasion this year, and to do something that could help raise more vital funds for the Hospice.
We've
decided to go and ride a mile-long zip wire over a quarry in Wales. Now I know
that might sound like the sort of thing a lot of people would do for fun but
neither of us are mad keen on this kind of thing - Seonaid gets vertigo and I've
bottled out of a sky dive and two bungee jumps in the past.... I'm not really all that good with the thought of being suspended in mid-air by a piece of rope or wire! Since we booked
it, a few people have very helpfully (no, really!) shared videos of other folk doing the same zip
wire, which hasn't helped with the nerves much... We're both bricking it...
I
know a lot of you have already donated and we're really grateful for your
support for the Hospice – if you’re able to help in any way again it would mean
an awful lot. The staff at St Leonards were a big part of us all being able to hold it together through a really difficult time and they deserve all the support they can get.
