In memory of James Wilkinson

Story

On November 26th 2011 a lot of lives were turned upside down. My Brother was killed in Kenya on a training exercise with the Army preparing for Afghan. He left behind a Mam, Dad, Sister, Wife & 2 very special Children. One of which he never got to hold.

James brought Sarah into our lives in 2010 and along with Sarah came my gorgeous Nephew, Connor. I never imagined James would ever become a parent but it came naturally to him. He joined the Army after being brought up in the Military and never wanted to stay in one place, he just wanted to be off seeing the world and providing for his family like our Dad did for us. He joined The 2nd Battalion the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers in 2010 and passed out in May 2011. In June 2011 they proudly announced that they'd be having a baby due early 2012. In July 2011 he married Sarah, 11 Days after his 21st Birthday.

In November 2011 Sarah moved to Germany to start married life with James & I don't think I've ever seen someone so happy. Life was perfect.

Unfortunately on the 26th the dreadful knock on the door came & so did the phone call. James was killed during a live firing exercise out in Kenya. Sarah & James had been married just short of 4 months and their Baby Girl was due in 3 months. Nothing could ever prepare a family for the heart break that came and still comes to this day.

The Forces Childrens Trust have done and continue to do an amazing job for children and families bereaved due to military deaths. Connor & Annabelle will benefit from this Charity for a very long time, they acknowledge the help and support needed for all the children in the situation they are in and help them every step of the way. It provides hope for the families of these children that there are people out there who care, who want to help and will help no matter what. With the help of the FCT these children will grow up with a sense of pride and understanding & they will never be alone.
