Event: Great North Run 2016, on 11 September 2017
Our world-leading research is improving our understanding of cancer stem cells and offers the potential to transform the way we tackle disease.

Story

After taking up running and his first Great North Run in 2005 at the ripe old age of 52, Keith has completed 10 GNRs to date and has decided to guilt trip his only daughter (who has never run before this year, let alone a half marathon) to participate in his final GNR in the great toon on her 25th birthday, September 11th.

We will be running for the European Cancer Stem Cell Research Institute based at Cardiff University, a fantastic and worthwhile cause. The Institute is also Enterprise Rent A Car's sponsored charity for 2016, where Lucie is currently a charity captain for the Southwest of the UK.

We don't need to stress the importance of such research, most of us have been affected directly or indirectly by cancer. Research at the Institute is currently focused on the significance of cancer stem cells, and how they can transform the treatment and understanding of cancer.

More info is on the links below:

Thank you for supporting us in the 2016 Great North Run! All donations will go directly to the European Cancer Stem Cell Research Institute at Cardiff University. Whatever you can give, however small, would be amazing.

Thank you in advance :)
