About 3 months ago Kirsty Balfour had an idea! She was desperate for a night out in Edinburgh, so in order for us to justify a weekend away with the girls we decided to chuck in a Half Marathon! 

Also, I saw it as an opportunity to raise money for charity through Motivated by Mervyn, and the girls agreed. Iain (Mervyn) would be delighted that we are doing a Half Mervathon but I can just hear him saying now 'why are you only doing the half'! 

Our charity of choice is the Fisherman's Mission - I spent many summers on the boat with Iain and lobsters paid my wages - the support they offer to families is so important so please dig deep, especially if you live in a fishing community.
