Story
I decided to enter this crazy race after watching it on television last year thinking it looked fun so after much coercion from Denise Mellersh at the start of 2014 we decided it would be a great challenge for us!! Personally I think it is pay back from Denise for making her do the London Marathon with me in 2003!However, what started as a ‘fun’ personal challenge has now changed into something much more worthwhile.
A neighbour and very good friend of my family, Deirdre Angland who was just 43 years old, recently passed away after losing her fight against leukaemia. Dee left behind a loving family, her children, Tom, Liam, Megan, Mike & Jack, husband Mikey and her own brother’s, sister’s, nieces, nephews and parents all of whom want to raise as much as possible in Deirdre's name. Please click on the link 'In memory of Dee Angland' to read the story on the families own Just Giving page where so far friends and family have raised a fantastic amount of money, you can donate on their page or on my own page, it will all go to the same worthy cause. The chosen charity is Leuka who facilitate life-saving work into the causes and treatment of Leukaemia and other blood cancers.
Please give what you can afford as every penny counts and thank you so much for visiting my page x
