Story
We are doing this for an amazing Brother and Friend. A semi-pro cricketer, a personal trainer and a true athlete, David Smyth was taken away by cancer after one week from him being diagnosed at the young age of 28. He was such a fighter, even lying in bed sick he never forgot his manners and thanked every nurse or doctor with a handshake or fist bump, a real gentleman. When he was told the news of his condition he never once showed fear, or complaint, he did not break down, he stayed strong to the very end. He kept on fighting, coming back from two heart attacks, a true fighter. We know if given the chance he would have kept fighting. Now we are fighting the disease that took him away from us. Please join our fight!
He was so close to both of us, we love him and will treasure every memory. We had preplanned this event when David was still well.We set the dates and we are going to continue with the plan in David's memory. He will be with us every step of the way.
He was my brother, my role model and my hero. He was my protector. He will be my guardian for the rest of my life. I will miss him everyday but know he is watching me and I will try to live my life to the fullest. Cricket was what bonded us together, and I’ll continuing playing in his memory. This walk will be done in less than 24hours, if we have to run to make up time, we will do it under that mark, David wouldn’t stand for anything less.
£25 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for an hour, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.
£70 could help run a large Macmillan information and support centre for one hour.
This is for every nurse and doctor that tried to save David's life. Please Donate, its for a great charity and they never gave up on David! They were truly amazing.
Thank you
