Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On 5th June Michelle, Caroline , Stephanie and Chantelle are raising money for More Than Words, a charity very close to our hearts by abseiling 130ft down Midhurst Court in Maidstone. More Than Words Charity supports disabled children with communication difficulties and their families.

Michelle's daughter Grace is one of these children. Grace was born with a rare chromosome disorder that has left her with many challenges in her life. Grace has Global Development Delay and at the age 4 and a half and doesn't walk and is non verbal amongst other things. She is at the development age of a 12 month old.

More Than Words has given Grace's parents the opportunity to learn Makaton signing for free (something which is not readily available on the NHS). This has enabled Graces family to communicate with her and Grace can use the signs too to communicate her needs. The frustration of not understanding Graces needs has been relieved somewhat through this for the whole family and we are taking on this challenge to enable the charity to help many more families out there like Grace's.

None of us have ever done anything like this before and we are all very nervous but it's all for a good cause and we wanted to challenge ourselves like these children have challenges on a daily basis.

The overall amount raised is split 70/30. 70% comes back to More Than Words and the remaining 30% goes to the KM Charity supporting road safety for children.

Please help us continue the amazing work of More Than Words and give what you can.
