Story
On the 27th September I will be running all 13.1 long miles of the Barns Green Half Marathon.
I will be running in memory of my Grandad, George Davis, who sadly passed away in 2013 after suffering with kidney failure for many years.
To show my appreciation for the care he received at the Royal Sussex County Hospital I am raising money for the South Eastern Kidney Patients Association, SEKPA.
SEKPA are a registered charity set up to help kidney patients in East and West Sussex who are treated at Sussex Kidney Unit of the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton and at its satellite Dialysis Units at Bexhill, Worthing and Crawley.
SEKPA's objectives are
To support kidney patients and their families in all ways possible
To provide an emergency Welfare Service
To raise money to purchase additional equipment for the wards and all the Renal Units
To support research into kidney disease
Over recent years SEKPA have raised more than £150,000 for new equipment, including, the latest dialysis machines, reverse osmosis water purifiers and dialysis chairs and beds. All of this money is raised through donations
