Story
The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation is a charity created in 2008 in memory of an inspirational young man, John Thornton. John Thornton was an Air Cadet, Royal Marines Officer and all round top man.
Lt Thornton was tragically killed in southern Afghanistan on the 30th March 2008 and the JTYAF was set up in order to help other young men and women achieve their dreams; often dreams which John had always wanted to achieve himself. They provide funds, support and assistance to young people as they experience some of the best things that life has to offer.
In order to raise funds for this incredible cause, my friend Will Bennett and I will be cycling from Central London to Paris in 24 hours.
That's a total distance of 385km on the bike! (We exclude the ferry distance).
We hope you can appreciate that this is a massive challenge for us, and we would like to raise as much money as we possibly can to honour the memory of someone who is an incredibly inspiration to us; someone who had similar drives, ambitions and desires, and someone that I would personally love to emulate.
