Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in a 24-hour spin, on 8th/9th November 2013, with a group of fellow spinning-instructors and fitness enthusiasts to help our friend Richard Stonier raise £40,000 for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice.
Richard lost his mum and best friend, Diane, to cancer just before Christmas last year. She passed away in the Dougie Mac and it has become Richard's quest and honour to raise £40k not only in recognition of the care that the hospice provided for his mum and family, but for the thousands of families who have and will be affected by cancer, and for whom the care and services provided by the Dougie Mac are irreplaceable.
Every one of us will at some point in our lives be touched by cancer. It knows no boundaries and does not discriminate.
The Douglas Macmillan Hospice is solely funded by charitable donations.
It provides cancer patients with palliative care both at home and in the hospice, maintaining the patients privacy and dignity for as long as possible in a supportive and caring environment. It also supports families during the patients illness and during the initial stages of bereavement.
Please, please, please sponsor me....it truly would mean so much to so many people.
Thank-you for reading...and thank-you so much for your support.
