Story
On Sunday 15th April 2012 I will be running in the Brighton Marathon, and need your support and as much money as you can possibly spare to raise money for Chestnut Tree House. As you can see from the following website www.chestnut-tree-house.org.uk
it is a fabulous facility and one of the few that exists in the country which cares for and provides respite for children with life limiting illnesses. Not only do they care for these wonderful children but they also provide help and assistance for their loved ones both in terms of care and support to families so desperately in need whether practical, physical or emotional. These wonderful facilities are under funded and need all the support that can be given.
I have worked in special needs environments since January 2006. I am very fond of all the children who I have had the privilege of working with.
On 2Oth January 2012 one of these children, Georgia Barnes, suddenly, unexpectedly and sadly passed away. I have spent a lot of time over the years with Georgia and her family and knew her very well. Chestnut Tree House played a valuable role in supporting her parents and family in their time of need and in the week or so before the celebration of Georgia’s life took place. The care and support the family received and the opportunity to still spend time with Georgia after she passed away was invaluable for the family to try to come to terms with their tragic loss.
Without funds this would not be possible. Your support and generous donations to support this wonderful facility would be greatly appreciated not only by me but also by Chestnut Tree House and all the children and their loved ones who are in need of this facility.
