Story
In February 2012, our father Gerry passed away from cancer, a disease he spent his whole life fighting for others. Both as a surgeon and a cancer researcher he impacted so many lives and we are often buoyed by meeting so many people he personally saved and returned to their families.
Dad faced the world with optimism, drive, passion and enough energy to power the national grid. We will need all of those traits to complete the NYC Marathon on Nov 3rd but will dedicate the steps, miles and blisters to him.
We are doing this to raise funds for the cancer research programmes he started and helped build, which we know will save so many people in the future. That will be his ultimate legacy and the way his ideas and spirit continue to make a difference.
Please dig deep and donate to our page. None of us have ever attempted anything like this before...ahh ignorance is bliss.
No matter how hard it is is though..we will cross the finish line..it is the least we could do....
Thank you..
Orla, Gearoid and Eoghan
