We provide services for Oxford's homeless to support them into a more stable future.

Story

The Alternative Triathlon will raise funds for Oxford Homeless Pathways which provides a range of services for homeless and recently homeless people in the city.

The Alternative Triathlon will consist of a glorious cycle around the city of dreaming spires, a daring punt up the Isis and finish up with an academically challenging (not really) pub quiz. Naturally, all of this will be done in fancy dress!

We would love it if you were able to make a donation no matter what the amount. Big or small, all of it makes a huge difference to so many lives! An idea of what your donation can buy is below:

£2     Basic IT course for 1 homeless person – taking away the fear of technology.

£5     provides numeracy and literacy tuition for 1 homeless person – improving skills and increasing opportunities.

£10   buys 12 ‘new arrival kits’ (basic toiletries, underwear etc.) given to homeless people on their first night at the hostels – restoring dignity.

£17.50 provides a Construction Skill Certificate Scheme (CSCS) enabling access to work in the construction trade – helping them get back on their feet.

£20   buys an IT class for up to 10 homeless people – small donation, huge difference.

£21   provides three month gym membership – builds self-esteem, self-worth and encourages healthy living.

£25   buys training and a certificate in Emergency First Aid at work – priceless gift of helping the individual help others.

£25   provides a music technology lesson – aids personal expression and helps recovery.

£30   buys a days’ team building excursion – helps social skills and shows the importance of working together.

£33   provides an individual with design and photography training – builds technical and retail skills and gives the opportunity to interact with the community.

£40   buys a numeracy and literacy class for 8 homeless people – foundations on which to build.

£55   pays for course books needed for a new college course – encouraging learning and promoting education.

£145 buys a plumbing course – the gift of employment, independence and self-support.
