Story
Thanks for visiting my page.
My name is Parmjit and I am a businessman who is 55 (56 when we do this climb!) years of age and also proud to say that I am the grandfather of three lovely grand children :)
This year, myself and some friends thought that it would be a great idea to do some fundraising for a needy cause - we have selected the Maternity ward of Kericho District Hospital in the Kenya.
When I first heard about this hospital, I was shocked and heart-broken to learn that many children were dying in this hospital every month due to inadequate equipment and facilities in the current delivery rooms
Mothers and children are dying here every day.
Mothers die of pregnancy related causes and babies are still-born, many die in their first month of life. New born deaths can be reduced by taking some simple maternal health steps that we all take for granted in the UK.
As a parent, and now as a grandparent I realised that how fortunate we are living in the UK with our NHS. They do NOT have this in Kenya.
It was for this reason that I registered for an extremely difficult mountain trek of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania - I am committed to joining a small group of people who are doing this seven day trek to raise money for this hospital - where they need simple amenities that we all take for granted.
For those you who know me, I am not the fittest guy in the world ! But, I am reaching out to you now, with a humble request to support this project by sponsoring me through this Just Giving page.
The funds shall go a long way in Kenya and we are hoping to raise over £50,000 for this project in the next few months.
Please hit the donate now button and help make a difference.
Please tick the GIFT AID button so that they can benefit from the extra 25% from the government.
Finally, I would like to ask you to share my link with your friends and family so that this project can reach even more people and we can all make a collective effort to help the Mothers and Babies of Kenya.
Thank you.
