Story
Any parent feels they have the most beautiful child in the world. Anyone who ever met Sophie knows not only was she was she beautiful but she was exceptionally bright, loving and funny. Her family and friends miss her more than words can say; our anguish at the loss of such a young and promising life is too much to bear. Her mum cannot imagine life without Sophie. Sophie was three and a half (and the half mattered), just by being Sophie she said and did so many things that brought joy to our lives, she was at the centre of everything she did and the heart of the family. More than anything she had an insatiable appetite for knowledge, conversation and life, she was a happy little girl who loved flowers, princesses and butterfly’s. She made us laugh every single day; One of our favourites was how Sophie had mastered a mock Lancashire accent and often quoted her cousin Victoria, she had that classic child ability to take conversation quite literally like the time when Sophie’s mum told her that she could not have a yoghurt until she had ‘cleared her plate’ and so 30 seconds later Sophie willingly obliged and brought her mum and empty plate, impressed at the efficiency of that particular dinner time her mum went to check the table and found Sophie’s plate had been cleared….. right onto the table. When asked why she had drawn on the wall in lipstick, Sophie adamantly advised her parents that she had little choice in the matter as there wasn't a paper and pen to hand. Sophie often had us speechless with just how perceptive and articulate she was and we could not have been more proud or felt more privileged than to be her parents.
Sophie's family have been very grateful for the support that they have received over the loss of their daughter. If people would like to kindly show their support, all funds raised in Sophie's memory will go straight to Sophie's Fund which is part of The Sheffield Childrens' hospital. Sophie's Fund is used to support Theos Burns Club, an essential after care which gives over 300 children a year who have suffered burns, much needed support for what with severe burns is a lifelong trauma.
Thank you to everyone for making this generous donation in Sophie's name.
