I have always said I would never run a half-marathon but I am doing this for Alex.

After many years of fighting, my friend Alex died from cancer last November.  Alex was an inspirational person who touched the lives of everyone she met. She never gave up and was always happy, postive and giving - and always looked totally stunning.

She supported other sufferers and also ran fundraising events including tea parties, modelling (even in her wheelchair when she was too weak to walk down the catwalk) and appearing on the QVC channel to sell jewellery for charity!

Starthrowers gave her hope when it seemed like there was none - although Alex remained postive throughout.  She did trials at the Royal Marsden - knowing that if it didn't help her, it might help somebody else.  

Alex brought joy and laughter to world and she remains a daily inspiration to me. She is missed by everyone who knew her.
