I am very excited to be running my first ever marathon, and even more excited that it is the Virgin London Marathon 2015 -  I have wanted to take part in the London Marathon since watching it on TV as a child - its only taken me 30 or so years to get round to it!

It means a lot to be able to run for the mental health charity, Mind, and to do it in memory of my brother-in-law, Tim Ponting.  As well as being a loved brother, son, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend, Tim was a generous, compassionate, funny, musically gifted and highly intelligent man, who experienced his own mental health challenges. He took his own life in 2013. I am really grateful for the opportunity to run this marathon in support of a charity that helps people who face similar challenges.
