Story
Tom Moulton, or Moose as many knew him, tragically passed away at the age of 29 on Monday 27th July. Moose was a much-loved son, brother, uncle, colleague and a dear friend to many. He was a big character, with big presence and an even bigger heart, always giving time to those around him. We want to raise money for two charities, which will be split 50/50, to the much underfunded work of Epilepsy Research UK, and to continue Tom’s legacy at Southend YMCA to support homeless young people. Tom suffered from epilepsy since he was a child but never allowed his condition to let him live anything but a full life. He never wanted to be treated differently and never made a fuss even when he’d been unwell. We want to help the underfunded work of Epilepsy Research UK, in the hope we may be able to support and assist the lives of those that suffer from it. Housing and the issue of homelessness amongst vulnerable youngsters became a passion for Tom during his time working at Southend YMCA, he recognised the huge need in the area for suitable accommodation. He worked tirelessly to fundraise, increase awareness and housing provision for local young people. JustGiving doesn't permit a 50/50 split through it's system, however Southend YMCA as Tom's employer, will ensure that as funds come in, they are split and directed to Epilepsy Research UK.
