Story

Penny was diagnosed with two types of Lymphoma. B cell Non-Hodgkins, and Double Hit Lymphoma. They were both very aggressive. She managed to conquer the B cell non-Hodgkins Lymphoma completely. Sadly, Double Hit Lymphoma has only recently been discovered, and not very much is known about it. It seems to be resistant to most treatments, and the chances of survival are slim. Penny's Double Hit spread to the central nervous system and brain, and was untreatable.

Penny showed incredible strength of character right to the end, and felt that she had been blessed with a happy life. It was her wish that instead of flowers, any donations should be made to The Angus Rowland Forget Me Not Fund in her memory.

The Angus Rowland Forget Me Not fund has been set up within Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research in memory of Angus, who lived in Staplefield, and died aged 14 with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. His family are raising money to support research to find treatments for blood cancers to help others faced with aggressive disease. https://www.facebook.com/AngusRowlandFMNFund
