Story
I'm doing The Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon in memory of my little sister Jodie, for her favourite charity, Chloe's Chemoo Cows. I should have been running the Great Scottish Run with a herd of other cow-runners, but I'm going to be in NYC with work. Sooooooo, I'm going to be a lone cattle running the streets of London.
This exercise is all about raising awareness of the charity, but if you want to spare a pound or two, please feel free :)
More about Chloe's Chemoo Cows here written by Chloe's parents, Elaine and Mark:
Chloe's Chemoo Cows was set up in September 2011 in memory of Chloe Alexandra McNeil. At 11 years of age she lost her fight with an inoperable and incurable brain tumour just 9 months after her initial diagnosis.
We hadn't started out to set up a charity, like all good things it evolved naturally and really is a reflection of Chloe.
The inspiration behind Chloe's Chemoo Cows was Chloe's love of art, her teddy 'Chewits', who was never far from her side in hospital, and her love of all things cow related! A strange obsession, but one she relished, from bookmarks to socks and from toys to jewellery... if it had a cow theme she loved it!
Our mission is to raise awareness and much needed funds to brighten the lives of children with cancer, to do this we work alongside Clic Sargent, the Macmillan outreach nurses and the play therapists at the Schiehallion Ward, Yorkhill Children's Hospital.
