Story
Jen and I are running the Bupa Great South Run on Sunday October 27th. Neither of us have ever attempted anything like this before but have always talked about how one day we would love to run a marathon....so we though this would be a good start.
When considering the charity I would like to run for, it took a split second to make this decision.
In June 2010 I heartbreakingly lost one of my friends, Royal Marine, Richard Hollington.
Rick was serving in Afghanistan and was on patrol when he was caught in an explosion, 8 days later Rick died from his wounds.
Ricks commanding officers described him as "the heart of the group", "one of his finest", "immense personality and raw courage", I couldn't describe my mate any better, he really was a hero.
Even though we lost Rick almost 3 and half years ago, he is always fresh in our minds, which is apparent in the huge amount those close to Rick have raised for Help the Heroes.
Please help us to continue to raise more money for an incredible cause, in memory of an incredible individual. Our mate, Rick.
Many Thanks
Carl and Jen
