Story

Fiona was an excellent friend and colleague who died in 2007. She always had a passion to work outside of her comfort zone and in particular, as an ophthalmologist, to help those in desperate need of medical aid in the developing world. She is remembered by a huge number of friends and colleagues as well as her fabulous family. Full details are on the website here.

I am running the Warsaw marathon as part of my mid life crisis induced European marathon habit but also with Fiona and her family in mind and the ongoing work. All the money raised contributes to teams of surgeons from Scotland to go out to operate to restore eyesight in the developing world. The fund is efficient, sustainable and practical. I would be over the moon if my friends and colleagues could donate to this fund. Every pound is well used. The marathon training has gone fine, albeit unspectacular, and hence I am delighted to have a small part in this excellent legacy.
