Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Our dear Mum, nanna and bus nanna passed away on August 17th (almost 4 years ago) after suffering Alzheimer's. Mum (nanna) was no trouble at all, she was a lovely, happy and smiley person before Alzheimers and she stayed that way.
It has been a very painful couple of years, since mum got much worse with the Alzheimer's. She lost the ability to do most things and it was so sad to watch. We as a family did all we could to make her life more comfortable and with the help of our amazing dad, her daughters, carers and doctors from the Memorial Hospital in Shooters Hill, she managed to stay at home where she belonged.
We have had very happy times, it hasn't all been sad. Mum (nanna) kept us on our toes and she did lots to make us laugh about. We have tried so hard to keep things together and I think Mum would be proud of us.
Mum caught pneumonia and this is the reason she was rushed to hospital. She lost the ability to swallow and this with pneumonia, and other complications was the cause of mum's passing.
We are asking for donations to Alzheimer's so that other families will get the help they need and hopefully with research into this awful disease other people will not suffer as our Mum did and as we all did.
We are missing her so much, she was such a strong, happy and beautiful person. I'm sure many of you have memories of her hospitality, her dancing, laughing, her ability to feed - even if you were an unexpected guest or 6 !!! She was the best.
A big thank you to our Mum, Saverina, (Sylvie) Dad, for looking after her so well, our carers and family members who popped in to see Mum and Dad.
