Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Please help support the fundraising in memory of Ben Wellings - http://www.justgiving.com/benwellings2013

Tamsin and Co have been excellent in raising £6846.82 to support Bowel Cancer UK in their campaign to raise awareness of bowel cancer in the under 50's and the "Never Too Young" campaign. The campaign is funding research to support the development of clinical guidelines to be written for GPs to increase early diagnosis of bowel cancer in patients under the age of 50.

Ben was a very keen cyclist, building his own bikes and doing all of the map reading on our rides.  After his diagnosis we planned for his recovery and a big trip through France.

I will be riding a 1 day, 108 mile race on July 5th to remember Ben and any support you can show with the smallest donation would be great.  This ride was the best fist pump I could think of to a great mate.

La Marmotte Sportive - the route:

"Covering a distance of 174.4 km (108.4 miles) and with 5,180 m (16,990 ft) of climbing, the route is considered to be one of the hardest of any cyclosportive and comparable to any of the most challenging high mountain stages of the Tour de France. Several famous Tour de France mountains feature; the Col du GlandonCol du Telegraphe,Col du Galibier and the final ascent of the legendary Alpe d'Huez."
