Story
On Saturday 31st August 2013, us girls will be participating in The Nuts Challenge to raise money for ENS@T (European National Study of Adrenal Tumours) in memory of our very dearly missed Louise and baby Michael.
The Nuts Challenge was designed by personnel from the British Special Forces to push the individual to the limit with 60 obstacles. This is run over a 7k obstacle course, with multiple laps available to those who want to increase their challenge to 14k, 21k or 28k.
Our group will be doing a mix of 7k and 14k. This will take between 3 to 6 hours!
The challenge involves 60 obstacles including several cargo net climbs, fences, gates, walls, pole slide, rope swing, barbed wire crawl, log balance, tyre wall, jump through tyres, rope wall, swamps, water slide and lots of tunnels. There is also a lake section with two very unique pontoon crossings.
ENS@T is the only organisation in existence that deals directly with the very rare cancer that took our Louise and Michael away from us. They are a very young charity of which we have been one of their biggest supporters in the last 3 years raising over £67,000 for their cause so far. The money raised by us, along with European grants has allowed them to make some massive advances in the detection of adrenal tumours. It has also helped to produce new software which works on a percentage basis and will give so many people much more chance of survival with this early prognosis.
Our team, known as “The Mick-a-Lou’s”, is made up of the following challengers:
Sarah Hollands |
Emma Law |
Pippa Ejje |
Charlotte Limpenny |
Emmeline Shadrach |
Shelley Bennett |
Mikella Hollands |
